Career Awareness Lecture On Career Opportunities In Telecom Sector

On 26th of Dec. 2022, the Career Counselling, Guidance and Placement Cell of Govt College for Women, Udhampur organised a Career Awareness Lecture on “Career Opportunities in Telecom Sector” in collaboration with the District Employment & Counselling Centre, Udhampur under the supervision of Prof. Jugal Kishore, Convenor, Career Counselling, Guidance and Placement Cell. Prof. (Dr.) Monika Sharma, the worthy Principal of the college was the chief guest on the occasion.
The proceedings of the programme were initiated by Dr. Kamaldeep Kour wherein she welcomed the Chief guest and introduced the audience to the today’s Resource Persons, Mr. Vinay Tickoo (Reliance Jio Centre Manager, Udhampur) and Ms. Navdeep Kour, Career Counselling Officer, DECC, Udhampur. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Monika Sharma, the worthy principal of the college by lighting the traditional lamp in the presence of other faculty members.
Prof. (Dr.) Monika Sharma, Principal of the college, while addressing the audience encouraged the students for participating in such Job-oriented programme and emphasised the critical role of such career awareness lectures in enhancing the knowledge of the students about the current market employment scenario, in general and Telecom sector, in particular. She also applauded the role played by the District Employment & Counselling Centre, Udhampur in disseminating the information about various initiatives by the Govt. of India. Further she affirmed that the college shall continue to organise such events in future also and the Career Counselling, Guidance and Placement Cell of the college shall be extended full support for organising such event to keep the students aware of the ever-changing employment prospects available to the graduates.
Mr. Vinay Tickoo, Jio(Reliance) Centre Manager, Udhampur, a resource person on the occasion aware the students about the various job opportunities available to the female student in telecom sector, in general and in Jio reliance, in particular and their future prospects and addressed the related queries of the students. In addition, Ms. Navdeep Kour, Career Counselling Officer, DECC, Udhampur and one of the resource persons on the occasion, made the students aware about the various counselling and employment initiative and schemes of the Govt. of India especially Mission Youth Scheme taken by the District Employment and Counselling Centre (DECC), Udhampur and promised to extend all possible support in future also. More than 120 students participated actively in the event and role of the NCC cadets is highly commendable in the management of the events.
At the end the formal vote of thanks was given by Dr. Amit Kumar, Member, Career Counselling, Guidance and Placement (CCGP) Cell. Mr. Arun Gupta, Prof. Yash Kumar and Dr. Dinesh Kumar, were also present on the occasion.
