GCW Udhampur Hosts Essay Writing Competition On “Role Of Women In India’s Independence

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Committee (AKAM) of Govt. College for Women, Udhampur organized an Essay Writing Competition on “Role of Women in India’s Independence” in collaboration with Department of Geography, under the aegis of Meri Maati MeraDesh and Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on August 10, 2023.
Principal of the College, Prof. Anjali Mahajan congratulated the winners and appreciated the organizers for hosting this wonderful event to remember the contribution of India’s Women freedom fighters.
A group of 11 students from 5th semesters participated in the competition (Miss. Supriya Bharti, Miss Vagisha, Miss. Neha Sharma, Miss. Seema Sharma, Miss. Simran Sharma, Miss.Anchal Devi, Miss. Nitika Sharma, Miss Sakhee Devi).Miss. Supriya Bharti secured first position, Miss.Vagisha bagged 2nd and 3rd position bagged by Nitika Sharma.
The panel of judges included Prof. SanjeetKaur (HOD Zoology), Prof. Tania Akhter (HOD English) and Prof. Tania Mahajan (Zoology Department).
Prof. Pooja Bharti, HOD Geography presented the formal welcome address and gave a brief resume about the event. She further conducted the proceedings of the programme with formal Vote of Thanks.
Among others present were AKAM committee members Prof. Kewal Kumar (Botany Department), Prof. Rajinder Singh (HOD Punjabi), Prof.Yash Kumar (Music Department).
