NCC CADETS ‘SAMARITANS’ OF GCW UDHAMPUR ON A MISSION CLEANING DEVIKA AS PART OF ‘PUNEET SAGAR ABHIYAAN’

“Leave nothing on the sands but footprints.” The NCC cadets of GCW Udhampur in association with DEWS ‘Dhruva Eco-friendly Waste Disposal System’ decided to leave their footprints on Devika River Ghats on 02 and 03 April 2022 to commemorate the Puneet Sagar Abhiyan. Puneeth Sagar Abhiyan is the Prime Minister’s cleanliness drive which will be conducted in the month of April 2022 to clean the extended streams of Devika River from plastic waste and create awareness amongst the local population about the importance and were assisted by 14 EME Batallion, Udhampur.
Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal, GCW Udhampur encouraged all the NCC Cadets ‘Samaritans’ present at the gathering to take active participation in keeping our surroundings, and the ecosystem clean and beautiful. The drive was concluded with the visit at DEWS, to dispose of all the collected garbage, where they also presented a Nukkad Natak to make an impact on the civilians. The 2 J&K Girls Bn, Jammu appreciated the ANO and the cadets for their interest and effort towards making the program, and Puneet Sagar Abhiyan as a whole, a grand success. The entire event was coordinated by Lt(Dr) Kamal Deep Kaur, Associate NCC Officer of the College. The event accessories were sponsored by ICICI Bank, Chinar Complex, Udhampur.
