NCC Unit (1 J&K Girls Battalion NCC Srinagar) of GCW Udhampur celebrated Swachchta Pakhwada

As a part of ‘Swachchta Pakhwada’ programme, 1st J&K Girls Battalion NCC Srinagar of Govt. college for women Udhampur, organized different activities on 14th and 15th October 2022, on the theme cleanliness. The aim of the events was to generate awareness about swachchta among the students as well as general masses. In this view, two days’ activities were conducted in the college campus as follows: Day 1- On 14th October 2022, 1 J&K Girls Battalion NCC Srinagar of GCW Udhampur, organized Slogan writing competition on the theme Swachch Bharat. As many as 10 cadets participated in this competition and expressed their ideas on Swachchta. Dr. Monika Sharma, the worthy Principal of the college was the chief guest on the occasion. She appreciated the cadets and encouraged them for spreading awareness among the society through their slogans. Incharge ANO Ms. Shallu Jasrotia coordinated the event and motivated the cadets to participate in such type of activities. Day 2- On 15th October 2022, in view of ‘Swachchta Pakhwada’ programme, 1st J&K Girls Battalion NCC Srinagar, Govt. college for Women Udhampur conducted cleanliness drive in the college campus. NCC cadets of this Battalion were enthusiastically engaged in different cleanliness activities based on ‘Swachch Bharat Abhiyan’. In the last day of the Swachchta Pakhwada, as many as 25 cadets participated in the cleanliness drive. They cleaned the area of college campus and spread Swachchta awareness. Dr. Monika Sharma, the worthy Principal of GCW Udhampur, appreciated the cadets for actively participating in this cleanliness drive and spreading the awareness message among others. Incharge ANO Ms. Shallu Jasrotia sensitized the cadets about the importance of cleanliness of the surroundings. In the end, apart from cleanliness drive, the NCC cadets took a pledge to maintain cleanliness and spread this awareness message around. Dr. Seema Sharma HOD Music and Mr. Yash Kumar Assistant Professor, were also present in the pledge taken ceremony.
