J&K Girls Battalion NCC of GCW Udhampur organised Rank Ceremony
On 3 rd November 2022, The Rank Ceremony of NCC cadets of 1st J&K Girls Battalion
NCC, Srinagar, Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur, was held today here in
the College Campus.
The worthy Principal of the college Dr. Monika Sharma, was the Chief Guest on the
occasion. In her address, she highlighted the role of NCC in nation building besides she
congratulated the cadets for their achievements and motivated them to take up careers in
defence forces.
I/c ANO Ms. Shallu Jasrotia also urged the Rank holders and other cadets to work with
utmost dedication for the honour and welfare of the society.
Different Ranks were conferred to the NCC cadets of 1 J&K Girls BN NCC Srinagar. Senior
Under Officer (SUO) rank was conferred to Priya Devi, Junior Under Officer (JUO) rank was
conferred to Ritu Devi, Sargeant rank was conferred to Samiksha Thakur, Corporal rank was
conferred to Manvi Singh respectively. Two cadets of this BN, Shashi and Pooja Devi were
also felicitated by the principal who got JUOs ranks during Thal Sainik training camp at
Nagrota.
The Ranks were awarded to the NCC cadets by Principal, Dr. Monika Sharma in the presence
of senior faculty members. Besides, the chief guest also felicitated Ex-Senior under Officer
(SUO) Tanisha Mankotia, Ex-Junior under officers (3) Kareena Devi, Shilpi Kour and
Kusum Devi for their achievements as the best seniors. Cadet Aastha and Cadet Sanchi of the
1 st year of NCC, conducted the proceedings of the event.
Among others, Dr. Seema Sharma HOD Music, Dr. Anita Sharma HOD Physics, Assistant
Professor Ms. Sarika Mahajan, and other faculty members and NCC cadets were present on
the occasion. The event was coordinated by I/C ANO Ms. Shallu Jasrotia. The programme
was concluded by singing NCC song.
