Seminar On Awareness On Employment Scheme For Graduates

Career Counselling Cell of Govt College for Women, Udhampur in collaboration with District Employment and Counselling Cell, Udhampurorganised a seminar on the topic “Awareness on Employment Scheme for Graduates”under the supervision of Prof. Jugal Kishore, Convenor, Career Counselling Cell on 4th of March 2022. Prof. Minu Mahajan, Worthy Principal of the college was the chief guest on the occasion.
The proceedings of the programme were initiated by Prof. Yash Paul wherein he welcomed the Chief guest and the representatives of the District Employment and Counselling Cell, Udhampur. Principal of the college, while addressing on the occasion encouraged and motivated the students for participating in such programmes and honing their entrepreneurial skills and taking full advantage of the Government sponsored schemes under the umbrella of District Employment and Counselling Cell, Udhampur. She also congratulated the Career Counselling Cell of the college for organising the event and encouraged them to organise such events in future also and advised the students to attend such Career oriented Lectures thereby keeping them abreast of the ever-changing job market scenario available to the graduates.
Ms. Priyanka Gupta, Assistant Director Employment aware the students about various initiatives of DECC, Udhampur and Ms. Navdeep Kaur, Career Counselling Officer and Resource person on the occasion, interacted with the students and discussed various schemes of the department and mentored them the process of applying for the same through an online demo for registration of the students on the employment portal of J&K Department of Employment wherein students participated actively. A WhatsApp group of the students of the college for facilitation of registration was also created. A total of more than 150 students participated in the programme.
At the end the formal vote of thanks was given by Mr. Arun Gupta, Librarian and member career counselling cell. Dr. Amit Kumar Sharma, Assistant Professor in Physics, Mr. Bini Kumar, Assistant Professor in Commerce were among the other members of the committee present on the occasion.
