Seminar On "Increasing Phase And Possibilities Of Official Language Hindi"

Hindi Diwas was observed to promote Hindi language among students and general masses, the Department of Hindi in collaboration with Literary Club Government College for Women(GCW), Udhampur organised a Seminar on “Increasing Phase and Possibilities of Official Language Hindi” at college campus on September 15, 2023.
Principal of the College Prof. Anjali Mahajan was the chief guest on the occasion.
Prof. Anjali Mahajan said during her speech at the ceremony that students are the backbone of the nation and that it is their highest duty for them to support their mother tongue. She explained to the students the benefits of preserving our mother tongue by sharing personal stories from her life. She assured the staff and students that she would support them in every way necessary to advance and promote the Language.
More than 15 students from the host institute participated in the seminar and expressed their views on the topic.
Earlier, the welcome speech was made by Dr. Mool Raj Convenor Literary Club GCW Udhampur. In his address, he made a point of not only outlining the significant issues that Hindi-speakers have faced over the past five decades, but also the lack of passion Hindi-speakers' parents have displayed in raising their children in the language.
He also highlights the challenges of speaking Hindi and the inferiority mentality that many people experience when doing so.
While giving the formal vote of thanks, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmed Department of Hindi encouraged the students and staff by highlighting the critical efforts required for the advancement of the language through, among other mediums, literature, trade, commerce and cinema.
Later , the chief guest also distributed certificates among the participants.
Among others, Dr. Kewal Kumar Department of Botany, Dr. Sushma Choudhary Department of Dogri, Prof. Shama Rani Department of Dogri, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Department of Music, Prof. Yash Kumar Department of Music, Dr. Omar and Dr. Asmeen Department of Hindi, other staff members and students were also present on the occasion.
